UNO’s Fundraiser
The Fall Fundraiser at UNO’s in Westborough is Sunday October 9th, 2011. Just bring one of the tickets below to UNO’s and give it to your server when paying your bill. UNO’s will donate upto 20% of your bill to Shrewsbury HS Crew ! Last Fall we made over $400 for this simple 1 day/night event. Not to mention it was fun seeing everyone after our home race. Anyone can use these tickets so please print them off and pass them out to people you know ! Rowers were also given tickets. Hope to see you there !
Alumni & Fundraising
As member’s of the rowing community, a Shrewsbury High School Crew alumni, or alumni of another program, we are all well aware of the hard work and dedication that goes into each rowing season. Further, the lessons of preparation, execution, teamwork and leadership that rowing provide are skill sets that are student-athletes can apply for a lifetime.
It is the goal of the Shrewsbury High School Crew program to run at the highest of levels for any school program. In order for this program to operate at these standards, throughout the year the boy’s and girl’s team conduct many fundraising initiatives in order to provide many of the necessities that drive daily operation of the crew program at Shrewsbury High School. As we all know, the sport of rowing requires significant capital equipment, from boats for the coaches and shells for the athletics to trailers and buses to get to races away from Lake Quinsigamond. We would like to thank all of the student athletes for the hard work each year required for these fundraising efforts. Just as important as the student athlete, is the community of Shrewsbury which consistently offers help, goods and/or services in the Shrewsbury Crew fundraising campaigns.
We are currently in preparation for launching our next fundraising initiative and will make the community aware of this program immediately upon its launch.
Until the launch of the next fundraising campaign, which we look forward to your participation, your donations throughout the year provide the capital to run the Shrewsbury Crew program beyond our annual expectations. Over the years, many alumni have made charitable contributions to the Shrewsbury Crew program, however, we would like to most notably thank the Donahue family for their support over the years. The Donahue family have been the greatest provider of charitable support to the Shrewsbury High School Crew program since inception in 1937. As a result of their contributions, Shrewsbury High School is fortunate to rowing out of the Donahue Rowing Center, and row in many shells, all of which provided by the Donahue Family. SHS rowers are a fortunate group to have such incredible support from the Donahue Family and other contributors!
