Our first regatta of the season is Sunday October 7th!
One of the ways in which we raise money for equipment/boats is to host 1-2 races on Lake Quinsigamond each year (SHS Crew/FOSC gets paid approximately $8,000 for our hosting duties!).
We are one of the hosting teams for this race, (and it is the only race we are hosting this fall) so we have some volunteer positions to fill.
To be sure that we can fulfill our hosting obligation, each family is asked to sign up for at least one slot.
There are both land positions and positions on the water. The details about the position and location are described in the sign-up. Training is provided for all positions. Absolutely no experience is necessary.
Please note the times for each job- some require a full-day commitment while others are partial day or even just a couple of hours.

This is a great way to learn about the sport or to see it from a new perspective, and new families will soon learn that “working” these races is the best way to participate as a spectator, and become more familiar with crew in general.
Honestly hosting races brings enormous amount of FUN to the day!!
